Putting together a joining kit

What to include, what to skip and how to keep every kit consistent from the first to the fiftieth.

A joining kit is a small set of things a new hire will actually use. The aim is simple: when they open it, they should think that the company has thought about them.

Start with what they use daily

A bag, a bottle, a notebook and a pen cover most desks and commutes. A cap or a card holder can round it out. Fewer, better pieces usually land better than a long list.

Keep the branding consistent

Choose one or two brand colours and keep the logo size and position the same on every piece. When items match, the kit looks designed, even if each item is simple.

Plan for people who join later

Hiring rarely stops after the first batch. Tell us if you expect to repeat the kit, so we can keep the artwork and the choices consistent for the next round.

Add a personal touch

A name on one item or a short note from the team lead turns a kit into a welcome. Tell us if you want names added and we will say what is possible.

Share how many kits you need and when the first person joins, and we will come back with options.
